The Assos Equipe R Winter Jacket S11 EVO is the winter cycling jacket for riders who simply keep training hard through the cold months. Developed with feedback from the WorldTour, with a second-skin race fit and made for intensive rides between +4 and +11 degrees in cold, wet conditions.

The EVO version is winter performance stripped back: superfluous details out, better protection on the stomach and sleeves in. Lighter, more aerodynamic and more race-focused than the previous generation.

Built to keep riding fast in the cold

The main fabric AIRBLOCK-EVO.888 is the updated version of the softshell that gave earlier R Winter Jackets their reputation. Wind and water-repellent, but with a membrane that is more breathable and more elastic than before. On the sleeves and the stomach sits CORE Light: a four-way stretch warp knit with a windproof membrane and water-repellent finish, exactly on the areas that catch the most weather in the aero position.

Staying dry when you go into the red

Riding hard in the cold means sweating in the cold. The BREATH inner lining uses PushPull technology: moisture is pulled away from your skin and moved out through the breathable softshell. On the forearms and the back panel sits thermal RX, a breathable warp knit that holds the warmth without becoming clammy. That way you do not end up on the descent with a wet base layer after a long climb.

The collar that thinks along

The struzzoKragen is one of those details you only appreciate once you have had it. This collar of lighter, soft insulation regulates your microclimate by itself: you do not have to open the zip to get rid of excess heat, so it keeps your throat out of the cold wind while your intensity and the terrain change.

Race fit, no room for folds

The AEPD 11 racingFit wraps your body in 360 degree compression and stability. The twinDeck construction links a protective softshell to a highly breathable inner layer. The bodySleeve AEPD construction lays the sleeve around your arms like a second skin, which helps both the aerodynamics and the moisture transport. At the back are seamless zeroSeam pockets with a STABILIZER V11 panel that keeps the contents in place.

Good to know

This is a race fit: tight, short in cut in the aero position and not meant for stuffing thick layers underneath. If you want more room and more insulation for steady long rides, look at the Mille GT line. Waterproofing is 2 out of 5, so for a day with persistent rain you take a shell along.

How does the racingFit fit?

Tight and body-hugging. The AEPD 11 racingFit is designed as a second skin with compression all round, so the jacket is meant to sit close and to fall perfectly in the riding position. If you prefer a bit more room or want to wear substantial layers underneath, choose a size up or go for a model with a regular fit.

What is the difference with the Mille GT Winter Jacket S11 EVO?

Both cover +4 to +11 degrees, but they are made for a different rider. The Equipe R has a race fit, is lighter and more aerodynamic and aims at high intensity. Can I fit my kit in the back pockets?

Is this jacket also suitable for rain?

For a shower and for spray from the road it is well equipped: the softshell repels precipitation and the CORE Light panels on the sleeves and stomach are water-repellent.
